 Objectives:

The aim of the 9th edition of the course is to develop all the technical and conceptual elements for the elaboration of scientific articles in international journals in the fields of ecology, genetics and evolution, although other disciplines are not ruled out. PhD students and postdoctoral researchers are the main target group of the course.

This course aims to provide the keys to a creative process in which everyone must develop their own style. The novelty of this ninth edition of the course is that it is transformed into a writing retreat at the "Residencia Universitaria de Jaca", https://resijaca.unizar.es
in which theory sessions will be combined with the writing of the manuscripts on which the students are working. This will allow progress to be made in writing at the same time as resolving the difficulties presented by the particularities of each article. In addition, the aim is for each student to interact not only with the teacher, through tutorials throughout the course, but also with the other students, because everyone has something to contribute to the others from their own experience.

If you are currently working on a manuscript, but find that it is difficult to carve out dedicated writing time, feel that you are not making significant progress, or want to learn how to improve the clarity and effectiveness of your writing, then consider applying to this Scientific Writing Retreat.

 Target audience:

Graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and junior academics who are actively working on a manuscript in any area of the fields of ecology, genetics and evolution.
.
Course structure:

This face-to-face phase at the Residencia Universitaria de Jaca will last 24 hours over three days.
There will be a subsequent phase in which the lecturer undertakes to review and edit a full manuscript of each participant before it is submitted to the peer review process in international journals. This commitment will be valid for one year after the end of the course
.
